The belly of the bear

I am dreaming inside
the belly of the bear
Curled up and warm
Quiet in the hush
of fallen snow
My mind out in the stars
Spread across galaxies
I wander the vast black
Star to star
I watch the polyrhythm of light
Sparkling pulse
And listen
to a deep, gentle hum
Is it her blood?
Ursa, the mother bear
My companion in the night
Or is it the blackness
singing to itself?
Singing, “welcome…
Welcome welcome”
